1892年纪念哥伦布的邮票

今天收到了100张美国的旧邮票。真是一个惊喜！曾经买过几个银制的一美元硬币，从此以后便不断收到各种各样的收集协会的信件，并且每个协会都会有所馈赠，譬如得到过一张维尼熊的首日封，还有一张纯金的邮票复制品，一小袋外国硬币什么的，上次又收到一个集邮协会的信件－－准确的说是一个专门收集旧邮票的协会，问了几个关于收集的简单的问题，抽空回复了一下，没想到今天居然收到了它寄来的邮票，粗粗看了一下，说是旧邮票，大多都是有几十年历史的，在它的馈赠中居然还发现了一张1892年的邮票（下图），屈指算来，距离现在也有100多年了。那是一张纪念哥伦布发现美洲大陆的邮票，从1492年到1892年正好四百年，虽然有些陈旧，但是保存的还算不错。刚刚回来，还没有来得及仔细点检，不过已经看到不少有趣的东西，譬如大量的纪念邮票，从上世纪初到上世纪末的，譬如纪念一战的，纪念罗斯富诞辰的，还有票面是Peale画的Washington At Princeton 1777，纪念West Virginia建州一百周年，纪念Republic of Texas的，纪念大陆会议主席John Hanson的，纪念Francis of Assisi诞辰800周年的，纪念Frances Perkins的，纪念地球日的，纪念Parent Teacher Association的，纪念白宫的建筑师的等等。
呵呵，虽然这些邮票肯定不是很珍贵，不过收集的乐趣在于满足好奇心和增长见识：）

Are they real
I am sure you have enough knowledge and expertise
to find out if the stamps are real.
One can receive tons of craps in the mail all the
time in US. Most of them are just that, craps.
There's no free lunch in this world.

hehe, they are real because they are cheap. Most of stamp collectors or philatelists only care about unused stamps. As a result, used stamps are much cheaper. So there is no need to fake them.

hehe,well, the value of
hehe,well, the value of those kinds of things are not measured by monetary value but by the interest of their collectors. Just like a coin used in Han Dynasty which is named Wu Zhu. It's very cheap, less than 0.5 RMB in market. So some people may think it is a crap. But for other people, it may be more valuable than 0.5 RMB. From this small piece of metal, one may get lots of interesting things. For instance, it might be coined by Shang Lin San Guan during the reign of Wu Di. Behind this coin, there is a long story about fiscal reform conducted by this ambitious emperor, blah, blah, blah. So the most interesting part does not lie in the 0.5 RMB but in the history or story of this liitle thing :-)
